Road Rehabilitation Project Begins in Mishishi Ward

Construction crews have commenced work on the 15km Mishishi-Mpongwe road, a project championed by Kasambo through CDF funding.

Construction work has officially begun on the rehabilitation of the 15-kilometre Mishishi-Mpongwe road, a project that Hon. Emmanuel Kasambo has championed through Constituency Development Fund allocations. The road, which has been in a deplorable state for over a decade, is a lifeline for farmers in Mishishi Ward who rely on it to transport their produce to markets in Mpongwe town.

"This road is more than just tarmac and gravel — it is the pathway to prosperity for our farmers and traders," Kasambo said at the ground-breaking ceremony. "When completed, it will reduce travel time from 3 hours to just 45 minutes."

The project is expected to be completed within 6 months and will include drainage systems and two bridges over seasonal streams. Local workers have been employed on the project, providing jobs for over 100 residents.
